In the frame of the Indo-European project NaWaTech "Natural Water Systems and Treatment Technologies to cope with Water Shortages in Urbanised Areas in India", NaWaTech Partners, NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Nagpur) and ESF (Ecosan Services Foundation, Pune) in collaboration with cewas south asia, conducted a ten day training. This training program, aimed at existing SMEs in the water sector, has been designed based on the results of the project NaWaTech, that aims at developing decentralised systems that are flexible and cost-effective, require low O&M efforts and optimise the water use by reusing wastewater.

  PARTICIPANTS PROFILE:

Participants from existing SMEs in the water and sanitation sector participated who wanted to expand their portfolio to widen or include natural and compact wastewater treatment systems and related service.

SME's staff members were encouraged to participate as teams according to their field of work. Engineers and Technicians were participated in the technical training while the SME's Marketing Specialists and Business Managers were part of business development module.
